Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital
Anchored in the East since 1954
Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital (HMR) is much more than a healthcare facility: it is a true institution at the heart of East Montreal, and one of the largest hospital centers in Quebec. It provides care from birth to end of life to nearly 550,000 Montrealers, which represents 26% of the population of the island! However, it only represents 17% of the healthcare capacity in Montreal.
Expansion and modernization project of the HMR
In September 2023, the Government of Quebec announced that it would proceed with the expansion and modernization project of Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. A hospital that meets the needs of its population and the expertise of its healthcare professionals.
This is the largest infrastructure project for the coming years in Quebec. It will add 254 new beds in 7 areas of intervention.

« The essence of HMR lies in the people who work there, who go above and beyond to provide the best care! »
« The hospital is full of compassionate people, dedicated to patients and their families. Although the environment may not be perfect, I've seen them perform true miracles, and I wanted to be part of this great team. »

The HMR Excellence
In addition to providing care for its own population, HMR welcomes patients from across Canada who benefit from its expertise in highly specialized but lesser-known fields. Affiliated with the Université de Montréal, HMR is a leader in advanced teaching and research, focusing on three areas of excellence: immuno-oncology, nephrology, and ophthalmology.
