One of the most successful editions yet!

23 November 2024, Montréal, Québec

The 23rd edition of Montréal Passion Vin showcased the incredible generosity of its participants, raising a net sum of $1,723,630 for the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation (HMR Foundation). This amount, revealed during the Grand Closing Banquet on November 23, will directly support Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) in its fight against complex diseases. On the cusp of HMR Foundation's major fundraising campaign in 2025, this sum was raised over three days of benefit events, bringing together members of business and medical communities alike.

Essential Funds for Visionary Care

This year, the HMR Foundation will allocate the funds to HMR's Centre of Excellence in Cellular Therapy, internationally renowned for its groundbreaking medical advancements. "Mobilizing support means enabling Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont to remain a leader in cellular therapy. These advancements transform and save lives, offering innovative treatments for blood cancers and hope for treating previously incurable autoimmune, ocular, and neurological diseases," stated Julie Desharnais, President and CEO of the HMR Foundation.

Cellular immunotherapy is one of the most revolutionary medical advancements of the 21st century, and HMR stands as a Canadian and global leader in developing this treatment. Dr. Denis-Claude Roy, Director of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory at the Centre de recherche de l'HMR and Director of the Institut universitaire d’hématologie-oncologie et de thérapie cellulaire (IHOT), expresses deep gratitude for the opportunity to lead this exceptional project: “The future holds immense possibilities. Thanks to you, the HMR Foundation directly supports innovation and research, helping us push the boundaries of medicine. Together, we will overcome disease and cure the incurable.”

An Evening Marked by Excellence

In collaboration with the SAQ and its major partner, National Bank Private Banking 1859, the HMR Foundation kicked off the festivities with the Opening Night hosted by Quebec actress and screenwriter Julianne Côté. Backed by Fasken and Québecor, key sponsors of the event, this inaugural evening brought together 420 guests in a lively and festive atmosphere. The following day, exclusive tastings, guided by Isabelle Racicot, Véronique Rivest, and Simon Beaulieu, featured exceptional wines and scotches, setting the stage for the Grand Banquet. The event, hosted by HMR Foundation spokesperson Patrice L’Écuyer, was a sell-out and ended with a rousing auction raising 40% of the total funds!

Guests enjoyed sampling exceptional bottles from prestigious houses such as Champagne Henriot, Vega Sicilia, Albert Bichot, Château-Figeac, and Whisky Laphroaig, all within a warm and elegant setting.
