Inauguration of the Claudine D’Amours Pavilion at the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Centre

On September 30, 2021, the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) Foundation inaugurated a new pavilion at the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Centre, the Pavillon Claudine D’Amours, named after an HMR patient.

Research at the Heart of our Mission

The Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Centre is a major research centre focusing on cell and molecular therapy as well as on regenerative medicine. It is recognized namely for its three areas of excellence:

Researchers, students and professionals work closely to develop new therapies and solutions that bring hope to patients. Affiliated with the Université de Montréal, the Research Centre is recognized by the Fonds de recherche du Québec-Santé.

More Researchers, More Space, More Equipment

Owned by the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Foundation, this former convent has been completely renovated and equipped to host Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont research teams.

Located on Rosemont Boulevard, across from the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont’s Rosemont Pavilion, it is the new setting for HMR research. The Pavillon Claudine D’Amours makes it possible to welcome a greater number of researchers and therefore recruit new investigators who are capable of translating their discoveries into patient treatments.

The new pavilion offers more space, increasing the capacity of laboratories for clinical applications of cell therapy. The Pavilion provides them with more equipment, and in particular the cutting-edge technology essential for implementing avant-garde technologies.

Responding to the Pressing and Urgent Needs of Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont

Julie Desharnais, directrice générale

Giving the name of a generous donor to this Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Centre pavilion is the best way to thank our donors and for them to honour the memory of a loved one. The new pavilion is concrete proof that innovation is happening in Montréal’s east end and especially at the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont.Julie Desharnais
